Junior – Instrumental Performance for the Blind


Applicant must:

  1. be under the age of 19 on March 1 of the audition year

  2. be a native citizen of the United States or must have received naturalization papers.

  3. be a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC), either as a member of a federated Junior Club or Junior Club Associate Group or as an Individual Junior Member. (To become an Individual Junior Member visit www.nfmc-music.org/payment, fill out the form, and pay the membership fee of $13 for annual dues.)

  4. provide an affidavit from an ophthalmologist stating the entrant is legally blind with 20/200 or less vision after correction.

  5. perform three contrasting selections on any instrument (no vocal). There is no specified level/category. Recording should not exceed 15 minutes (can be less). Auditions are held via DVD.

Entry fee



First Place $175, Second Place $150

Deadline for applications

March 1, 2020

Auditions are held via DVD. 

Send application, $20 entry fee, and one DVD recording to the VFMC Junior Blind Performance Award Chair.
