Article XIV - Parliamentary Authority

The rules contained in ROBERT’S RULES OF ORDER, Newly Revised, shall govern the Virginia Federation of Music Clubs (VFMC) in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with the Bylaws of this Federation.

SECTION 1

These Bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the qualified voters present and voting at the Annual Convention and/or VFMC Fall Board Meeting, provided that notice of such amendments has been submitted in writing to each of the federated organizations classified as active, and to other active members six weeks prior to the meeting at which the changes are to be considered.

SECTION 2

Amendments to these Bylaws shall become effective at the close of the session at which they are adopted, unless a different effective date is included in the revision.

RESOLUTION

That the parliamentarian be authorized to correct article and section designations, punctuation, and cross-references and to make such other technical and conforming changes as may be necessary to reflect the intent of the VFMC.
